Vicki: I was so sorry when I saw Jerry's obit in the paper today. I want to express my condolences to you and my appreciation to you for the help that Jerry gave me when you and I were co-workers at Cat. Back in those days, you often, at my request, "drafted" Jerry to help me hire a prospective employee, impress a supplier, or educate outside counsel by arranging for them to drive a Cat tractor in the parking lot of SS. Jerry didn't have to do that but he did. I know that his efforts in that regard were instrumental in helping us "close the deal" in several of those cases. I pray that the lord will give you strength and help you hold onto the happiness you had with Jerry.

Jerry was the best grandfather that we as parents could ask for. So loving and patient. We could never imagine you both not being part of our children's lives. We love you so much and are happy that you have helped us raise such beautiful, loving, and generous children. We will meet again one day.
